Foundational Statements of Jesus

Jesus told us that the kingdom is at hand. At hand means everywhere, and this statement means that God’s perfect kingdom is universally present. If that is so, where is there room for evil? It is nonexistent except as a false consciousness of man. When that consciousness is changed the seeming evil disappears. That is the marvelous secret of Jesus’ power which he endeavored to impart to humanity.

He tells us also that this kingdom is within. Jesus always went into the within for all wisdom and all power. This, then, is the avenue of approach to the divine knowledge and power. These statements of Jesus: The kingdom of heaven is within you’; ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand’; ‘I and my Father are one’; and the promise ‘Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven and all these things shall be added unto you’ - are the four foundational statements of Jesus, and though they have been largely ignored, because not understood, they give us the whole Truth.

‘The kingdom of heaven is within you’;

It is hard to understand what "The Kingdom of Heaven is within you" really means. This is because it is not understandable to the ego, which interprets it as if something outside is inside, and this does not mean anything. The word "within" is unnecessary. The Kingdom of Heaven is you. What else but you did the Creator create, and what else but you is His Kingdom… T60

‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand’;

How light and easy is the step across the narrow boundaries of the world of fear when you have recognized Whose hand you hold! Within your hand is everything you need to walk with perfect confidence away from fear forever, and to go straight on, and quickly reach the gate of Heaven itself... His gratitude to you is past your understanding, for you have enabled Him to rise from chains and go with you, together, to His Father's house. T637

‘I and my Father are one’; and the promise

Can you exclude yourself from the universe, or from God Who is the universe? I and my Father are one with you, for you are part of us. Do you really believe that part of God can be missing or lost to Him? T194

‘Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven and all these things shall be added unto you’

Instead of "Seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven" say, "Will ye first the Kingdom of Heaven", and you have said, "I know what I am and I accept my own inheritance". T49

THE FIVE PRINCIPLES OF UNITY AND TRUTH

1. God is all Good equally present everywhere.

Creation is the sum of all God's Thoughts, in number infinite, and everywhere without all limit. Only Love creates, and only like Itself. There was no time when all that It created was not there. Nor will there be a time when anything that it created suffers any loss. Forever and forever are God's Thoughts exactly as they were and as they are, unchanged through time and after time is done. ~ACIM WB, p.461

2. Thought is creative and we create our life experiences through and by our thoughts.

As a man thinketh, so does he perceive. Therefore, seek not to change the world, but choose to change your mind about the world. Perception is a result and not a cause. ~ACIM Text, p.445

3. Affirmative Prayer increases our awareness of our health, wealth, well being and Gods presence.

Miracles praise God through you. They praise Him by honoring His creations, affirming their perfection. They heal because they deny body-identification and affirm spirit-identification. ~ACIM Text, p.5

4. There is no order of difficulty in miracles.

The Holy Spirit must work through you to teach you He is in you. This is an intermediary step toward the knowledge that you are in God because you are part of Him. The miracles the Holy Spirit inspires can have no order of difficulty, because every part of creation is of one order. This is God's Will and yours. ~ACIM Text, p.118

5. Ye shall know the Truth and the Truth will make you free.

There is no substitute for truth. And truth will make this plain to you as you are brought into the place where you must meet with truth. And there you must be led, through gentle understanding which can lead you nowhere else. Where God is, there are you. Such is the truth. ~ACIM Text, p.290
